RESHAPING
If your hat gets bent, crushed, or the brim becomes misshapen, you can steam your hat back to brand new with a basic iron and a damp washcloth.  Set your iron to the wool setting, then wet a washcloth and wring it out so it is still wet but not dripping water. Place the hat flat on an ironing board and place the damp washcloth over the brim of the hat. Then place the iron directly over the washcloth and repeat around the entire perimeter of the hat.  Never iron the hat directly, always have a damp washcloth as a barrier in between the iron and the hat. Once the entire brim has been ironed, then place the hat on a flat surface to cool for 15 seconds to bring the brim back to a flat shape.  If you are wanting a curve in your brim, repeat these steps but during the 15 second cooling process, bend your brim to the desired shape until it cools.

STORING
We recommend you store your hat laying flat in a cool, dry place on a shelf away from direct sunlight, otherwise this might discolor or distort the shape. Avoid contact with water or moisture. 

CLEANING PALM LEAF
A lint roller or soft brush (shoe or clothing brush) will clean off most particles, dust and hair. Remove stains or spots by dabbing with a damp cloth and gentle baby detergent. Rub gently and lay flat to dry.

CLEANING ALPACA/SHEEP WOOL
A lint roller or soft brush (shoe or clothing brush) will clean off most particles, dust and hair. Remove stains or spots by dabbing with a damp cloth and gentle baby detergent. Rub gently and lay flat to dry. Alpaca wool can get wet and will not be ruined. Wet alpaca wool looks darker than the original color, but it should dry completely to the original lighter color. Just let the hat air dry after treating any stains.

WATER DAMAGE
Alpaca wool and palm leaf hats can get wet and will not be ruined. If your hat ends up in the rain, the ocean, or a pool, just blot the hat as much as possible with a dry towel, then lay flat to air dry on a flat surface.  If the hat somehow lost its shape while getting wet, follow the ”RESHAPING” instructions above once the hat has fully air dried.
